Skill Requirements:


Education: Completion of university


Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Licensure as a Registered Nurse by the province/territory of work, Licensure as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse by the province of work


Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years


Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English


Work Setting: Nursing or convalescent home


Area of Specialization: Geriatrics, Medical unit, Mental health, Palliative care


Specific Skills: Assess patients to identify appropriate nursing interventions, Collaborate to plan, implement, co-ordinate and evaluate patient care, Dispense and administer medications and treatments as prescribed by a physician, Monitor, assess, address, document and report symptoms and changes in patients' conditions, Deliver immunization programs, Supervise licensed practical nurses and other nursing staff


Essential Skills: Reading text, Document use, Writing, Oral communication, Working with others, Problem solving, Decision making, Critical thinking, Job task planning and organizing, Significant use of memory, Finding information, Computer use, Continuous learning
