Title: Medical aide (home care for young lady recently quadriplegic)  

Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full Time, Shift, Weekend, Day, Night, Evening

Location: Edmonton west end, Alberta (2 vacancies ) 

Skill Requirements:


Education: Not required


Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): First Aid Certificate, Continuing care assistant certification


Experience: No experience


Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English


Work Setting: Home care and visiting care agency


Specific Skills: Take patients' blood pressure, temperature and pulse, Lift, turn or massage patients, Supervise patients' exercise routines, Administer suppositories, colonic irrigations and enemas, Bathe, dress and groom patients, Transport patients in wheelchair or stretcher


Additional Skills: Serve meal trays and feed patients, Make beds and maintain patients' rooms, Maintain inventory of supplies


Security and Safety: Basic security clearance, Criminal record check


Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Attention to detail, Combination of sitting, standing, walking, Bending, crouching, kneeling, Walking


Transportation/Travel Information: Valid driver's licence, Vehicle supplied by employer


Essential Skills: Reading text, Numeracy, Writing, Oral communication, Working with others, Significant use of memory
