Title: Personal medical care aide   

Terms of Employment: Casual, Part Time leading Full Time, On Call, Shift, Overtime, Weekend, Day, Night, Evening

Salary: To be negotiated, As per collective agreement

Location: Edmonton South, Alberta (4 vacancies ) 
Location: Edmonton North, Alberta (4 vacancies )

Skill Requirements:


Education: Completion of college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training


Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Continuing care assistant certification


Experience: Experience an asset


Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English


Work Setting: Home care and visiting care agency, Home for the aged, Nursing or convalescent home


Specific Skills: Lift, turn or massage patients, Administer suppositories, colonic irrigations and enemas, Bathe, dress and groom patients, Transport patients in wheelchair or stretcher, Answer call signals, Collect specimens


Additional Skills: Supply and empty bed pans, Serve meal trays and feed patients, Deliver messages, reports, requisitions and specimens, Make beds and maintain patients' rooms, Maintain inventory of supplies


Security and Safety: Criminal record check, Immunization records


Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Work under pressure, Repetitive tasks, Physically demanding, Manual dexterity, Attention to detail, Ability to distinguish between colours, Sound discrimination, Standing for extended periods, Combination of sitting, standing, walking, Bending, crouching, kneeling, Walking
