Title: Universal Dental Lab Dental laboratory technician

Location: Edmonton North, Alberta (1 vacancy) 

Skill Requirements:


Education: Completion of high school, Completion of college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training


Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Licensure by the provincial or territorial governing body


Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years


Languages: Speak English, Speak French, Read English, Write English


Work Setting: Commercial dental laboratory, Independently owned business


Area of Specialization: Crowns and bridges, Ceramic or porcelain application


Dental technologist and Technician Specific Skills: Shape impressions and reproduce dentures, Prepare and fabricate dentures, Fabricate dental devices, Repair dental devices


Laboratory Bench Worker Specific Skills: Cast gold or metal alloys for bridges and denture bases


Additional Skills: Train and supervise other dental technicians or dental laboratory bench workers


Security and Safety: Basic security clearance


Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Work under pressure, Tight deadlines, Repetitive tasks, Attention to detail, Sitting, Bending, crouching, kneeling


Essential Skills: Problem solving, Critical thinking
